Take your needle, my child, and work at your pattern; it will come out a rose by and by. Life is like that – one stitch at a time taken patiently and the pattern will come out all right like the embroidery.

— Oliver Wendell Holmes

Losing myself in a world of colors, threads and fabrics is a comforting escape from the rest of the world. They say the meditative rhythm of embroidery helps slow one’s heart rate. Stitching becomes a solace. And as each stitch comes to be it can often mirror the way in which we stitch together the parts of life — sometimes consciously and other times not. And eventually, as the wise Mr Holmes has said, it all comes together.

As the days, weeks and months go by I will continue to add my fiber projects here. If you are interested in owning one you can find the commerce side of this work at my FiberCafe at Etsy.
